History
The Stearman PT-17 is considered one of the most spectacular biplanes of all time. Its development began in 1927, when Lloyd C. Stearman founded the Stearman Aircraft Company. The company was later taken over by Boeing, which gave the biplane the name “Boeing Stearman”.
From 1934, the production of robust training aircraft such as the Stearman X-70 began, which were characterized by their excellent flight characteristics. Our Stearman Pt-17 was built in 1943.
During the Second World War, the PT-17 played a central role in pilot training, with around 3,600 built. After the war, it was mainly used as an agricultural sprayer and later restored for aerobatic shows. Today, the PT-17 is a symbol of technical excellence and aviation history.
